Smoothies are one of my favorite tools for clients who are busy, on the go, or just getting started with changing how they eat. When they are built well, they are filling, balanced and packed with nutrients, and they take about five minutes. Each of these recipes is built on Alpha Protein Plus, which comes in a whey or a dairy-free version, so you can choose what works best for your body.

PB chocolate smoothie

Tips for a better smoothie
- Greens first. Blend the greens with the milk before adding everything else for the smoothest texture.
- Power greens are any mix of tender leafy greens, such as baby spinach, kale and chard.
- Go easy on fruit. Half a banana or half a cup of berries adds plenty of sweetness without spiking your blood sugar.
- Prep ahead. Pre-portion greens and fruit into freezer bags for the week so mornings take two minutes.
